Brain Droppings

I do not watch "The View" and have not seen the actual segment that provoked this response, but I get the general gist of it from the online response. By all appearances, the comments made reflect a gross ignorance of the importance of nurses in our healthcare system. Nurses are the heart and soul of healthcare, doing the bulk of the work in virtually every area of medicine. To imply that they are nothing more than assistants for doctors is to completely dismiss their role. The comments on "The View" were unwarranted and misguided, but if there is a silver lining, it is the outpouring of support they generated. Hopefully, the response will help educate others about the essential role of nurses.
